A missing man was found 16 years later
A marvel in Southeast Asia, where the family finally found their dear person after he went missing more than ten years ago, although everyone was sure that he was dead. Abripp Asp, a young policeman was on duty in Aceh province in northwestern Indonesia on the morning of December 26, 2004, the day the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster happened.
After the tsunami, which killed more than 227,000 people in the Asian and African continents, Asp did not return home, and communication with him was completely lost. But recently, 16 years later, he was found in a mental asylum in Indonesia.
The Police Department confirmed this information and reported that Asp had been identified by his old friends and colleagues. "After he disappeared, he was considered a victim of a natural disaster and now he suffers from a mental illness, therefore is staying in a closed psychiatric room"- it was added. But despite this, his family was very happy to know that he is still alive. Now they are trying to find out why the hospital staff did not inform them about his hospitalization.
Interestingly, this is the first time in the past 10 years that one of those who disappeared after the tsunami happened in 2004 survived. Then, more than 1.7 million people lost their homes. And by this day, more than 43,000 people are still missing, of whom 37,063 are citizens of Indonesia.
