An actor from America Charles Grodin, who played in some of the Beethoven series and King Kong film, died yesterday. On May 18, Grodin died at the age of 87 in Wilton, Connecticut. This tragic news was announced by his son Nicholas. The reason for his death was bone marrow cancer that the actor suffered.

The actor was born in 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He began his acting career back in the 1950s, playing the drummer in the 2000 Leagues Under the Seas film. Especially, Grodin became famous for his comedic role in one of the greatest action films Midnight Run. Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin’s movie appeared in 1988. What's more, he is also recognized for the role in several parts of the movie about the dog Beethoven where he played the father of the family.

His Midnight Run partner, two-time Academy Award winner Robert De Niro, honored the late actor. He said that Charles was as good a person as well as an actor. Robert also added that Midnight Run was a great project to work on. The film is a true classic, with a high rating and perfect playing of Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin.

The late actor also took an active part in performances on Broadway. In addition, Grodin wrote the script for a mini-film dedicated to the musician Paul Simon, for which he was awarded the Emmy Award in 1977.
