Queen Elizabeth II Is 96 Today, the Palace Showed a Photo of the Queen With a Pony

Elizabeth II Birthday

To celebrate the Queen's birthday, Buckingham Palace showed a new photo of Elizabeth II. Her Majesty, wearing a dark green coat against a blooming magnolia bush, poses with her two favorite ponies, Baibek Cathy and Baibek Nightingale on the grounds of Windsor Castle. The picture was taken a month before her birthday. The photo was presented by the Windsor Horse Show, which the Queen has visited every year since 1943. These ponies will take part in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth on the throne this summer.

The Queen will spend her birthday alone at Sandringham, a country residence where her late husband lived after his retirement. Prince Philip settled on the farm in 2017, where he led a private life, spending a lot of time reading and drawing. It is believed that the Queen's father also loved this house.

The Queen arrived at the estate by helicopter from Windsor Castle. The celebration will take place in a close circle with members of the royal family. The Queen will receive guests the day after.
