Elon Musk Promised UN 6 Billion Dollars To Save Humanity From World Hunger
The Tesla founder wrote on his Twitter about his willingness to sell shares of the company for 6 billion dollars to fight global hunger. But the richest man in the world set a number of conditions. The UN must prove that the large sum will actually solve the problem and provide an open accounting report that will allow the public to see where the money is being spent.
The billionaire made such a statement after the head of the UN called for help for millions of people in need. It was said that only 2% of Elon Musk's fortune can solve the problem of world hunger. This step could save about 42 million people who are dying right now.
According to the data, there are currently 41 million people on the verge of hunger in the world, up from 27 million in 2019. Only in four countries of the world- Madagascar, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Yemen, 584 thousand people are already suffering from hunger.
Back in September 2021, Musk became the third person in the world, whose fortune exceeded 200 billion dollars (after the Amazon founder and Louis Vitton President). Since then, he has remained at the top of the billionaire ranking. And in October, the businessman became the richest man in the history of Forbes ratings against the background of the conclusion of an agreement on the production of 100 thousand Tesla electric cars.
