Facebook Debuts With Smart Glasses in Collaboration With the Ray-Ban Brand
The company Facebook together with the famous brand Ray-Ban presented technological glasses called Ray-Ban Stories. They look like ordinary glasses but they know how to shoot videos, take photos and receive calls and play music.
The glasses, designed in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, are supplemented by cameras, microphones, and speakers to take over some of the functions of the smartphone.
They weigh less than 50g and come with a leather case that doubles as a charging case. Unfortunately, the glasses are not protected from water or even splashes, so you should not wear them in rainy weather.
With glasses, you can take photos and videos, use them as headphones to listen to music via Bluetooth from a smartphone, and also talk using microphones.
Control is via buttons on the frame or voice commands. The glasses must be connected to an iOS or Android device for full functionality, but you can still take photos without a smartphone using the new Facebook View application.
The dual cameras will allow users to add 3D effects to their photos and videos once they are uploaded to the application.
The Ray-Ban glasses are available in three models: Wayfarer, Round, and Meteor in different colors and with different lens types. In addition, there are sunglasses and prescription lenses for people with low vision.
Ray-Ban Stories will be available for purchase at Ray-Ban stores in the US, UK, Italy, Australia, Ireland, and Canada, as well as on the brand's website.
