American actor Clarence Williams III died on June 4, 2021, at his home in Los Angeles. The cause of his death is Colon cancer. He was 81 years old.

Clarence Williams was born in 1939 in New York and raised in a musical family. His father, Clay Williams, was a professional musician, and his grandfather, Clarence, was a composer and pianist who worked with singer and actress Eva Taylor. Clarence III began his career on stage as a teenager, getting a small role in a play at a local theater. Consequently, he played a lot on Broadway, and in 1965 he was nominated for a Tony Award for his role in the play Slow Dance on the Killing Ground.
