Queen Elizabeth II Appeared With Prince Andrew at the Memorial Service for Her Husband

Queen Elizabeth Goes Public

Queen Elizabeth II appeared at a public event for the first time in six months. The queen, who recovered from the coronavirus, arrived at Westminster Abbey, where a solemn memorial service for Prince Philip took place. Monarchs from all over the world, as well as members of the royal family, gathered to honor the memory of her late husband. The only ones who are not expected to serve at the Abbey are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The couple said they would miss the service due to the inability to be in London without security.

British paparazzi filmed the 95-year-old Queen with her son Andrew in the car as they were heading to the memorial service. This is the first joint appearance of the disgraced prince with Elizabeth after the scandalous trial of the rape of a minor.

The Queen's decision to participate in the solemn memorial service was made only on the day of the service itself. Recently, Elizabeth often cancels meetings due to poor health and advanced age. The event also invited politicians, public figures, and charities with whom the late Prince Philip worked.
