Reese Witherspoon Is Selling Her Hello Sunshine and Joins a New Company
Former Disney executives Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs have invested in Hello Sunshine. The movie production company was originated by Reese Witherspoon and her husband. The success of the company was bought primarily by the series with the participation of Witherspoon herself. For example, Big Little Lies, along with The Morning Show, and Little Fires Everywhere sold to major streaming services. In addition, Hello Sunshine produced the Gone Girl blockbuster, starring Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck, which grossed 370 million dollars.
The company of ex-Disney Blackstone executives will pay 500 million dollars while the entire business costs around 900 million dollars. The money will go to buy back shares from its current owners, including the Witherspoon-Toth couple, their partners, and company management. At the same time, Witherspoon and the current head of the company, Sarah Harden, will retain a seat on the board of directors.
