Willie Garson, who starred in Sex and the City, passed away. The actor was 57 years old and in recent years has been struggling with pancreatic cancer. 

This news was announced by the son of the actor on Instagram. He published a touching post, accompanied by various photos and videos. An HBO representative also confirmed Garson's death, noting the actor's contributions to the company's television show.

Willie was best known for playing the role of Stanford Blatch who was the close friend of Carrie Bradshaw. The actor also appeared in two full-length films based on the TV series, released in 2008 and 2010. 

In December 2020, it became known that Garson, along with Sarah Jessica Parker and others, was involved in the production, which will be a continuation of Sex and the City. The sequel is produced by HBO Max and will consist of 10 episodes. And although his role was secondary, it became the finest hour for the actor. The series has earned 7 Emmy Awards, 8 Golden Globe Awards, and 11 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

In total, the American actor has about 200 roles in various TV shows and movies. Garson also starred in Friends where he played a neighbor of Ross Geller. In addition, his other roles include White Collar, Twin Peaks, and others.

Garzon was born in New Jersey and began his acting studies at age 13. For 25 years, the actor has worked mainly with HBO and HBO Max. The Stanford Blatch character in Sex and the City was gay, but in life Garzon was heterosexual. It saddened him that he never had children in any of the marriages, and in 2009 he adopted the boy Nathen, who at that time was seven years old.
