The First Full Trailer of the Netflix Documentary About Britney Spears Has Been Released

The film, directed by Erin Lee Carr, will be released on September 28 and is an attempt to understand the legal and ethical issues of the guardianship of singer Britney Spears. And now, the first full trailer of the potentially scandalous movie has appeared on social networks. This happened a day after the company confirmed the rumors of the movie with an 18-second teaser with an excerpt of the voicemail that the pop star left to a lawyer during the trial in 2009. In the audio message, the singer talks about the next court hearing.

The topic of the custody of Britney Spears and the artist's struggle for her own freedom still haunts the public. Streaming service Hulu even released a documentary, titled Framing Britney Spears. It arrived earlier this year and tells the story of the singer's formation, her rise to fame, and further struggle with her own family. Now Netflix has decided to follow the example of colleagues: they are preparing their own version of a documentary about these events.

Britney vs. Spears tells how the star managed to win this difficult battle against members of her own family, including her main guardian, Jamie Spears. Also, representatives of Netflix claim that they began work on their project earlier than their colleagues from Hulu - however, they released their film back in February this year.

James has been the guardian of his daughter Britney since 2008 after she ended up in a mental hospital due to alcohol and drug problems. In June 2021, Britney appealed to the court to release her from custody, and on September 8, her father filed a formal petition to end the custody. Shortly thereafter, it became known about Britney's engagement with her boyfriend. Being under the protection of her father, the singer could not get married or have children.
