The Girl Who Had Been Kidnapped Escaped Thanks to the TikTok Application
The kidnapped girl managed to escape thanks to TikTok. She attracted the attention of a passing driver with the help of hand gestures that she had seen earlier on the popular social network.
A man who was driving next to a car with a missing girl from North Carolina recognized the gestures and informed police that she appeared to be in an unpleasant situation. The sheriff's office confirmed that a 16-year-old girl was displaying non-verbal labels that included violence and I need help.
As a result, 61-year-old James Herbert Brick was arrested. The police stopped him right on the highway when the girl was sitting in the back seat of the car. Brick's phone contained pornographic pictures of the girl.
The Canadian Women's Foundation says there is an international universal signal for help in cases of domestic violence or other problems. It is necessary to turn the palm towards the person, then squeeze the thumb and cover it with the rest of the fingers.
By July of this year, TikTok had been installed over 250 million times from the App Store and Google Play Store. This is the fifth non-gaming application to be downloaded over 3 billion times from the iOS and Android app stores.
