The Performer of the Role of James Bond Received the Highest Award of Britain
Daniel Craig, best known for his role as agent 007, received The Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, British order of knighthood. The corresponding document appeared on the website of the UK government. His film character received the same award.
Elizabeth II awarded the actor with an award for achievements in the field of theater and cinema. Typically, this award is given to diplomats and spies. Such an unusual choice of awards may explain the fact that the actor helped the Queen in her film debut. In 2012, especially for the opening ceremony of the Olympics, which took place in London, the director of the film shot a parody of James Bond starring Daniel Craig and the Queen in the lead roles.
Daniel played James Bond from the period of 2006 to 2021. His last film, titled No Time to Die, was released on September 30th.
In addition to the actor, more than 1,200 people were honored with the 2022 New Year Awards from the British Monarchy, including scientists, politicians, athletes, and people who have worked to raise funds for charitable organizations.
Back in September, Craig was named Honorary Commander of the Royal Navy. According to the plot of the series, Bond also has the rank of commander.
