Una Stubbs, Known for Playing the Role of Mrs. Hudson in the Sherlock Series, Has Died
The actress, who played Mrs. Hudson in the TV series Sherlock starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, has died in the UK. Una Stubbs was 84 years old.
Stubbs died at her house located in Edinburgh, and in her last days, she was surrounded by her family. The actress has been ill for several months. What kind of ailment the artist suffered from is not specified.
Una began her career at the age of 16 as a chorus girl at the London Palladium and starred in a television commercial for chocolate in the 1950s. During her career, which began in the 1960s, Stubbs has appeared in more than 50 television series and films. She was also a successful theater actress and respected artist- her work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
One of the last known works of Stubbs was the role of Mrs. Hudson in the TV series Sherlock, which appeared on screens in 2010-2017. In the story, as in the original book, she rents an apartment to the detective at 221-B on Baker Street.
Stubbs has been married twice. She left three sons, one of whom she adopted in her first marriage.
