Vanessa Bryant Is No Longer Suing the Company and the Pilot of Island Express
Vanessa Bryant is no longer suing the company that crashed her husband Kobe Bryant, daughter Gigi and seven other people in a helicopter. The new legal documents reportedly say the case was settled pending trial. Vanessa filed a request in which she confirmed that there would be no proceedings. Nevertheless, it was not reported on what conditions the parties managed to agree.
Recall that the widow of the legendary basketball player filed a lawsuit against Island Express in February. The lawsuit stated that the company had broken the operating rules. Namely, they used the helicopter under certain visibility conditions, and it was flying in fog at high speed. In addition, Vanessa Bryant's lawyers noted that the pilot had already received a warning in 2015 for violating flight rules in low visibility conditions. The basketball player's widow demanded compensation not only for moral damage, but also for the costs of the funeral.
